This online talk will provide you all the guidance and know-how you’ll need to grow healthy organic food using natural & sustainable processes in your own growing space. In this workshop we will cover:

  • Tips for how to get your plants off to a good start
  • How to get your soil ready for planting
  • Growing in containers
  • Easy things to try out

Course overview:

Growing your own organic food is proving more popular than ever, but if you’ve never grown anything before, or have had limited success, knowing where to start can seem overwhelming.

This online talk will provide you all the guidance and know-how you’ll need to grow healthy food using natural processes in your own growing space.

With plenty of advice and practical tips to give you the best chance of success, we’ll explore some of the methods that our expert horticulturalists use to great effect year on year such as no-dig vs dig, the usefulness of green manures and growing with peat-free composts. We’ll also discuss common growing challenges and how to manage them sustainably.

This online talk will have an informal, relaxed environment with the opportunity for interaction and questions.

Course leader:

Anton Rosenfeld has been with Garden Organic for over 15 years. His work has ranged from projects with commercial field-scale growers to small-scale community gardens and allotments. He has worked as a grower, runs many training courses and regularly writes for Grow Your Own and Kitchen Garden magazine. He has a passion for soils, composting and growing veg from a wide range of cultures and horizons.
